In a crucial preparatory match ahead of the upcoming Ghana Premier Women’s Super-Cup, Berry Ladies FC faced off against Oak Ladies FC in a closed-door friendly that ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw. The match served as an essential test for the team as they gear up for their opening game against Police Ladies FC on September 21.
Both teams displayed impressive skills, with Berry Ladies showing their attacking prowess early on. Goals from Comfort Cobinnah and our new striker Jemima Twumwaa showcased the team’s offensive capabilities though we fought back valiantly, equalizing twice to secure the draw.
Coach Dora Zuta, who is steering Berry Ladies FC into the new season, shared her thoughts on the match with Berry Ladies FC media: “This friendly was an important opportunity for us to assess our strengths and areas for improvement. I’m pleased with the effort from the players especially our new entrants, but we need to refine our finishing and defensive coordination ahead of the Women’s Super-Cup.”
As the countdown to the Ghana Women’s Super Cup continues, Coach Dora Zuta emphasized the importance of teamwork and preparation. “We have a solid foundation, and the players are committed to bringing their best to the tournament. The draw against Oak Ladies has given myself and the technical team valuable insights, and we will work on these aspects in our next training.”
