Berry Ladies FC Fall 4-0 to Dreamz Ladies in WPL Super Cup Group Stage Finale

Berry Ladies FC wrapped up their 2024 Ghana Women’s Super Cup campaign with a 4-0 defeat to Dreamz Ladies FC in the final group stage match. The loss means Berry Ladies FC were unable to qualify for the knockout stages, a sharp contrast to their impressive showing in last year’s tournament under Coach Freeman Amponsah.

Despite the result, Head Coach Dora Zutah remained optimistic, explaining that the tournament served as a valuable preseason preparation for the upcoming 2024/2025 season. “Our main objective was to use this tournament to fine-tune the team ahead of the season opener on October 21st, where we will face Hasaacas Ladies FC, a formidable side. While the results weren’t what we hoped for, I’m confident the experience gained will benefit us moving forward.”

Coach Dora also highlighted the injury concerns plaguing the team, with several key players sidelined. “We’ve had a tough time with injuries, and that’s impacted our performance. Our focus now is on working with the technical team to get these players fit and ready for the season.”

Present at the match was the management team, led by CEO Robert Osei-Danso, who took the time to encourage the players despite the loss. “I want you all to remain optimistic. I’m still proud of what you’ve achieved, and the most important thing is how we bounce back. You’ve shown resilience, and I have no doubt we will come back stronger.”

Captain Regina Donkor also addressed the team on behalf of the players, expressing gratitude to management and the technical team for their support throughout the tournament. “We’ll take this time to reflect on what we did wrong, learn from it, and come back stronger for the season ahead.”

As the team shifts focus to the upcoming 2024/2025 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League season, Berry Ladies FC remain determined to improve and compete at the highest level.
