Berry Ladies FC: The No.7 Jacqueline Amponsah was substituted in the 59th minute of Saturday’s 2-0 MTN Women’s FA CUP defeat with Police Ladies FC at Madina Astroturf and Jafaru Rahama who was severely injured during the game was seen limping off the park.
Jackline Amponsah was seen holding her shoulder as she departed the field of play following an earlier clash with the opposition defender.
Gideon Sosu, the team’s physiotherapist said post-match: “The bad news [is] Jackline has something on her shoulder and Jafaru’s leg had severe sore marks. We will see as we wait for our team’s doctors report. In that situation we don’t know what she [the referee] whistled there against her, to be honest and we don’t know why no card was given for both challenges.
“In the end, Jackline had to go off with a shoulder issue and Jafaru Rahama couldn’t walk well after the match. We need further assessments; I don’t know at this moment, but their injuries are painful and look a bit severe, but hopefully the team doctors will handle them, and we will see the way forward with treatments.”
