Berry Ladies FC Reflects on Loss Against Ampem Darkoa and Prepares for Dreamz Ladies FC Clash

Berry Ladies FC held a press conference yesterday internally with the Berry Ladies Media, where head coach Dora Zuta shared insights into the team’s recent performance against Ampem Darkoa FC and their upcoming crucial match against Dreamz Ladies FC.

Coach Dora’s Match Report on the 2:1 Loss Against Ampem Darkoa FC

In a closely contested match, Berry Ladies FC fell short in a 2:1 loss to Ampem Darkoa FC. Despite the defeat, Coach Dora was full of praise for her team’s effort, considering the circumstances surrounding the squad. “The girls did exceptionally well,” she stated. “Losing more than nine players to transfers in the off-season, and with 80% of our current roster being new recruits from Division 1, I think they’ve shown incredible spirit.

Many of these players had only two preparatory matches under their belts, both against Oak Ladies FC, another Division 1 side. Yet, they managed to keep up against one of the top teams in the league.”

Berry Ladies FC went into the game knowing it was a tough challenge, and Coach Dora acknowledged that inexperience played a role. However, she emphasized that the players showed determination, especially in the second half. “They were resilient, and despite being under pressure, they fought till the final whistle.”

Injuries Impacting the Team

Adding to the challenges, Berry Ladies FC sustained multiple injuries during their recent fixtures. More than six players are currently on the injury list, with some like Jacqueline Amponsah having to push through and play despite not being fully fit. Coach Dora expressed concern over the toll it has taken on the team, noting that the squad’s depth has been tested with many key players sidelined. “Several of our players were forced to continue playing through their injuries because we are short on options. It’s a difficult situation, but their commitment speaks volumes about their passion and dedication to this club.”

Looking Ahead: Expectations for the Dreamz Ladies FC Match

Today, Berry Ladies FC faces Dreamz Ladies FC at 10:00 AM at Ghanaman, Prampram. Despite slim chances of qualification, Coach Dora remains hopeful and focused. “We know the odds are not in our favor, but this match will be a test of character. We aim to go out there and play our game, keeping in mind that every opportunity counts.”

Coach Dora further expressed her hopes for a solid performance, despite the setbacks. “My expectation is for the players to maintain their discipline on the field, give their all, and continue to build chemistry. Winning today would mean a lot for their confidence moving forward.”

She concluded by calling on fans to continue supporting the team, knowing that the squad is still gelling. “It’s been a difficult period with the transition and injuries, but we believe in the process. The team is growing, and that’s what matters most right now.”
