The Captain of Berry Ladies FC, Cynthia Boakye Yiadom wants her Berry squad to ‘keep pushing’ in their hunt for the Malta Guinness Women Premier League’s top-four position on Monday when they host Lady Strikers FC at Madina Astroturf.
Berry Ladies FC have recorded three consecutive wins in league action and are looking to make it back-to-back victories this week 11 fixture.
Berry Ladies FC sit fifth position ahead of this Monday’s fixture and face Lady striker’s outfit sitting in the 8th Position in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
Cynthia, though, knows her side must continue the good signs of progress they are making and produce another strong show in front of their home supporters, said this to Samuel Kwame Boadu (Digital Marketer at Berry Ladies FC)
“The important thing about the chase [for the top four] is it’s not a one-day trip – you really have to go for it,” Cynthia told Samuel during their training session on Saturday, 3RD March, 2023.
“I have no clue what it means for Lady strikers and them [other teams], but I think they realize already that we are not completely gone. So, it’s not that we are in no man’s land and that’s clear, but we play pretty much all of the teams ahead of us. We don’t have to think about it, we just have to take it game by game and go full throttle for it – go really into the game and try to win it somehow and use the good moments and don’t suffer from the lesser-good moments we have experienced.”
On this Monday’s contest with Lady Strikers FC, Cynthia B. Yiadom added: “We can cut it in pieces – [it’s] just three points, that’s what we need and not focusing on clean sheets or goals. Like in all other games; just three points…. Coach Freeman Amponsah always advices us not to undermine our opponents. The pressure must be on us because its home and we need these three points, but it’s a big game and for us we will push till we are top 4 or top 2.”
