Ernestina Amoateng is proud of Berry Ladies FC‘s progression under Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo and Coach Freeman Amponsah and the midfielder has reiterated that these roller coaster of results from the team are why she is still with Berry Ladies FC in the first place.
Berries are preparing for a Malta Guinness Premier League clash at Ajumako in the Central Region against Soccer Intellectuals Ladies FC – who Ernestina feels are the no.1 threat right now – before next week Saturday’s meet up with Lady Strikers Fc.
It’s a big few hours for the squad and the new manager, Coach Reginald Asante, but something Ernestina Amoateng has hoped to be part of ever since Police Ladies FC defeated us both in the Premier League and the FA Cup.
“I’m very proud,” Ernestina told club media and “This is Berries” when asked how she felt ahead of the two games.
“When I came here I wanted to work, to build the new project of Berry Ladies FC and to be back on the top.
“Now we are fighting against the best teams in the women’s premier league in this second round of fixtures and we have great opportunity to be at the top of the league again if we make up our minds.”
Ernestina Amoateng has been a key member of Coach Freeman Amponsah’s side this season and Berry Ladies FC have won all three Premier League games with her in the starting line-up since January 2023.
A run of 4 wins from the last 5 games has helped Berry Ladies FC climb the table to the 5th Position and engine of our midfield sees no reason to limit what we should be targeting between now and the end of the season.
“I think we can be proud of the beginning of the year, 2023 and what we as a team have accomplished and I think we’re getting better and better and we’re ambitious,” Ernestina added.
“We have to keep going, to keep working and we want to achieve great things this season.”
“We have to believe and hopefully at the end of the season we’ll be very happy.”
