Berry Ladies FC won 3-1 against Essiam Socrates Ladies FC in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League matchday 3(three) fixtures at the Mankessim Astroturf. Berry Ladies FC will maintain the 2ND or might be at the top of the League Table thanks to goals from Comfort Yeboah, Elizabeth Linking Boateng and Ernestina Amoateng.
Berry Ladies FC took advantage of Essiam’s defensive stumble to dominate the game and show why they are tactically good. Coach Freeman Amponsah’s team, winning Sea Lions Ladies FC last weekend, took the lead on the stroke of half-time.
Comfort Yeboah’s strike at the start of the game to give Berry Ladies FC the lead was her 2nd Goal of the season as a defender.
Though Essiam Socrates Ladies FC had a late consolation goal through a penalty in the second half of the match, Berry Ladies FC had already thrashed Essiam Socrates
Ernestina Amoateng completed the scoring with an amazing finish after Elizabeth Boateng had inadvertently steered another inspiring goal to give Berry Ladies a 2-0 lead in the second half.
Berry Ladies FC finished the game with some players injured during the game, but they held on comfortably to clinch the 3 points ones again.
Essiam Socrates Ladies stay in the relegation zone while Berry Ladies FC trail league leaders Hasaacas Ladies FC on a slim point difference – although Berry Ladies FC can move on top of the League should Hasaacas Ladies FC get a defeat in their next game.
“I’m very happy with the performance,” Berry Ladies FC boss Coach Freeman Amponsah told Berry Ladies Media Team. “The way the team dominated the game, we fully deserved to win.
“They were defending really deep [but] we generated a lot today and looked a threat every time [we came forward]. The timing of the last goal in the second half was perfect.”
