Hannah Buabeng revealed her excitement at being back to the ‘Berry Ladies fc family’, in her first interview with www.berryladiesfcgh.com since coming back from her season break.
The midfield maestro has made her decision to play one more season with Berry Ladies Football Club after more than 2 seasons with Berries and is already eager to meet her new teammates and our supporters once again.
Speaking exclusively to www.berryladiesfcgh.com, Hannah said: “It’s super exciting for me personally. I’m so glad to join this amazing club again for one more season. This club has such a big history, and I hope we can achieve lots of things, and I’m just looking forward to meeting all the new players, new staff, and yeah, it’s going to be exciting.”
We asked her about her past experiences of playing with us these whole seasons, something that Hannah admitted was always a challenging experience, citing our ‘family mentality’ as a crucial factor in our contests against the big teams.
“I think the family mentality that the team has on the pitch is one of the reasons why it so hard to play against Berry Ladies FC,” she said.
“I guess they have it off the pitch as well. So the team mentality in the squad is very, very high and you can feel that. Obviously, there’s so many talented players and there’s big room to achieve big things as well.”
Hannah has chosen to wear the same number shirt for us, a number she’s had throughout her professional career, and we quizzed our old gee on the significance behind her “lucky” number.
“I have had it now for many years,” she said.
“I chose it when I became professional, and since then, it’s always given me luck. When I became professional, I took it because it has some history with my brother who also plays football outside the country. We used to take it always when we played some video games together. I think it’s the perfect number!”
Our Midfielder, popularly called “FIGO” is excited to take to the pitch against elite clubs once again, but this time in a season that might be her last season though not confirmed yet by her or management.
“I think the Super Cup League is a special tournament and every football player just loves to play there,” she said.
“I was fortunate to play some but didn’t win the trophy and for me it was the best feeling I’ve ever had. So, to play there again this season with this same team and new faces is very exciting for me. Hopefully I can bring some good attributes into the team, hopefully to win the trophy. Because I think it’s the most special trophy to win before the start of a season.”
