Coach Freeman Amponsah was ‘disappointed’ for Berry Ladies FC to drop a point from their meeting with Jonina Academy last week Saturday but enjoyed being part of such an intense game.
Jonina’s 3rd Goal ensured the Anti Aku affair ended 3-0, with Berry Ladies FC dropping a point for the second time this season (2 Loss in 8 games)
Both sides went on the front foot in search of the victory and had chances, but Jonina Academy won after a breathless duel between the two.
Read on for Coach Freeman’s assessment after our festive preps…
On how he feels about dropping a point from the game…
Disappointed but it was a big fight, a great game to be involved in. Jonina Academy is a good team, of course, but I think we had opportunities to win the game and unfortunately, we didn’t. It was intense for both sides I think, and we move on.
On whether Berry Ladies FC had the better of the opportunities…
I think it’s difficult to analyze it at this point. But yeah, obviously the one where we hit the crossbar, the one-on-one situations we couldn’t finish, so maybe. But anyway, I think it was always going to be a very intense game and it showed.
On whether he expects Jonina to be ‘pushing Berry Ladies FC all the way this season’…
They’re hoping for consistency as well and I think they’ve been doing it quite well but no, Jonina Academy has a lot of work to do looking at their position on the League table. We are doing it quite well this year and hopefully we can keep that going and let’s see where we’re at in February, March – that period – and then we can really push on hopefully. Thank you!
