Jacqueline Amponsah, Berry Ladies FC youngest forward insists there is no “secret formula” to their incredible 5 unbeaten form, and it is purely down to hard work by the team and technical team members.
Berries are closing in on 6 unbeaten games though they have dropped points out of the two draws in their last two matches. However, Berry Ladies FC’s formidable statistics mean little to Jacqueline Amponsah.
“The only time I think about that number is when someone asks me about it and once, I’ve answered the question I forget it immediately because I am absolutely not interested,” she added.
“We did what we did. We try to win league games and we’ve done that in different circumstances, with supporters, without supporters. It is our responsibility, and we are keen in winning games, but it is no secret recipe what we have – as at now we don’t have to lose or even draw but we expect to win, to even win all our games and that is what we are focused on now. We want to deserve three points, that’s what we want. That is what is expected of us from Coach Freeman and our CEO.”
Berry Ladies FC’s 5-match unbeaten since January 2023 will be put to the test by a resurgent Faith Ladies FC on Saturday, 11th March, 2023 in what promises to be an enthralling encounter.
Jacqueline believes it is far too premature to talk about who will win but she promised Berry Ladies FC will be among the top two contenders by the end of the season.
“I don’t know why we speak about winning the league when we have about 6 more matches to go,” she said. “A lot of times it is an open race – we have a lot of teams with few 1 or 3 points separating them. The season is not a sprint it is a marathon, and you have to go through a lot of different moments. I don’t know who will win the league at the end of the season, but I know a few teams will try and Berry Ladies fc will be one of them.”
