Report: Hasaacas Ladies 2:2 Berry Ladies Fc | Portia Sakyiwaa shines

Neither Hasaacas Ladies FC nor Berry Ladies FC was able to create any clear-cut opportunities to win in a draw that keeps the situation at the top of the table very edgy. Coach Freeman Amponsah revealed before the match that Grace Krofi Amoah (GK) was in line to start, but after still feeling unwell upon her arrival at our final training on Friday which the medical team advised her still being unstable, she was named among the substitutes. Gifty Amewoyi (GK) was therefore replaced with Grace Krofi Amoah(GK)

The hosts started quickly and looked to pin us back in the opening exchanges, but it was Portia Sakyiwaa, making her second start since January, who had the first half chance and utilized it to give Berry Ladies FC the lead. Berry Ladies got off to a great start and Jacqueline Amponsah and Janet Korkor had a couple of half chances in the first half, Graham Doreen was denied late on, before Berry Ladies Fc finished the first half strongly with a goal and a lead from Portia Sakyiwaa.

Martha Appiah and Comfort Yeboah both had close-range headers from corners saved on the line and Hasaacas Ladies continued to dominate possession in our half..

Berry Ladies Fc were again unable to hold onto their advantage as Hasaacas Ladies equalized the goal to make 1:1. Berry Ladies Fc after few minutes were dealt a potential blow when Comfort Owusu of Hasaacas Ladies Fc utilised a chance in 61’ minutes to give Hasaacas the lead, 2:1

But Coach Freeman’s side allayed fears of serious injuries when speaking after the match, describing the issue as a “knock”. Coach Freeman sent on new blood of players midway through the second half in search of an equalizer, but Portia Sakyiwaa again made it 2-2 in the 90th minute to give Berry Ladies a point at Gyandu Park.
