FA Cup most talked about Team Berry Ladies FC have progressed to the round of 32 of the Ghana Women’s FA competition after they beat Faith Ladies FC 1–3 in a 64th round at the Carl Reindorf Park on 21–01–2023.
It was a much-needed win for Coach Paul Freeman and his team after the ignominy of losing to Police Ladies FC in the Women’s Premier League before the festive break in 2022.
The 64th round didn’t need any penalty shoot-out though some Faith Ladies players believe the referees decisions were not favorable, but Coach Freeman’s team would have no complaints about Portia Sakyiwaa’s thunderbolt that decided the encounter.
Coach Freeman changed the team’s tactics bringing in different tactics and player roles.
Faith Ladies FC began well to complement and could have gone ahead and from the resulting counter, Maybel Amoyaw took the ball and ran at Faith Ladies’ defense, and seeing their keeper off her line, unleashed a shot that soared into the net to give Berry Ladies FC the Lead after Ernestina Amoateng’s Equalizer
The hosts then got desperate in the last 10 minutes of the game, but Berry Ladies FC defensive line and Goalkeeper Portia Asante massive saves wouldn’t allow them to score a brace. Berry Ladies FC weathered the fate of Faith Ladies FC and are through to the 32nd round with a 3:1 win over Faith Ladies FC, with some fans of Berry Ladies FC calling it a revenge!
