The first session of the Club Administrators Course for Female Football Administrators at the Regional Women’s Division One level has started at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, Prampram today, September 9, 2024.
The specialised capacity building workshop in collaboration with FIFA Women’s Development Programme forms part of the implementation stage of the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Women Football strategy.
FIFA Instructors Thubaelihle Bridgette Sibanda and Michelle Jane Kerr will lead the forty (40) enthusiastic Women Football Administrators from the lower tier in the Southern Sector in the 3-day course aimed at enhancing their administrative capacities as club officials.
The opening ceremony was graced by Women’s Executive Council Representative, Dr. Gifty Oware-Mensah, Administrative Manager of G.S.C.E, Winnifred Mawudeku, Head of Women Football Development, Jennifer Amankwaa Sarpong, GFA Competition Representative on Women Football, Barbara Yankah, Women’s Football Head at the GFA Communications, Matilda Dimedo and former Black Queens Players: Fafali Dumehasi and Patience Nana Ama Quarshie.
Dr. Gifty Oware-Mensah welcomed participants on behalf of the GFA Executive Council and admonished them to seize the opportunity to acquire more knowledge in football administration at the youth level.
Key focus areas for the capacity building will be in Communication, Leadership Marketing and Administration and the long-term goal is to support the grassroots with the necessary knowledge and training for their day-to-day work.
This all-important program falls within the scope of the GFA’s holistic approach to grass-root football development. Recently the GFA offered free license D Coaching course for coaches in the Women’s lower tier across the country and now building the capacity of administrators to further drive the agenda of developing the women’s game.
